In two stunning performances at the end of November, we are pleased to welcome distinguished Polish guitarist Paweł Półtorak! (pictured below).

Paweł Półtorak is a Polish classical guitarist whose playing focuses on lyrical clarity and emotional depth. His interpretations reveal a deep interest in meaning, storytelling, and the expressive possibilities of the instrument.

He began his guitar journey in Białystok in 2008 and went on to complete both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the guidance of Mark Eden, Mark Ashford and Xuefei Yang. During his career, he has been a laureate of several national competitions in Poland, with his most recent recognitions including the 2023 RBC Guitar Prize and the 2024 Stephen Dodgson Scholarship in the United Kingdom. He has had the chance to enrich his artistic perspective through masterclasses with, among others, Laura Snowden, Paul Galbraith, Miloš Karadaglić, Manus Noble, Marek Pasieczny, and David Lesner.

He feels most at home in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, where lyricism meets modern expression. After moving to Poland, he began exploring the works of Janusz Strobel, Marek Pasieczny, and Alexandre Tansman, rediscovering the country through its music and its sense of poetry. For him, performing these works is both a return to his roots and a way of sharing the Polish sound with international audiences.

For nearly a decade, he has shared his passion for the guitar as a teacher, having taught at Solihull School (UK) and currently at The British School in Warsaw. In both performance and teaching, he strives to express music with sincerity and imagination, inviting listeners and students alike into its expressive world.
