🎶✨ ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: BIANCA VANCEA ✨🎶

A pianist of remarkable sensitivity and artistry, Bianca Vancea has built an impressive career as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist. Currently in her final year at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, studying under Professor John Thwaites, Bianca has captivated audiences with her performances across the West Midlands.

As a member of the Boulanger Piano Trio, she has graced prestigious venues such as the Alexandra Theatre and St Hilda’s Church, recording works that bring contemporary compositions to life—including Ella-Rose Rayner’s "Rose-Coloured" on Hues and Nicholas Paul’s "The Wood for the Trees" on Want.

Bianca has also been recognised for her excellence in accompaniment, earning awards including the Edward Brooks English Song Accompanist Prize, Edward Brooks Lieder Accompanist Prize, and the Gordon Clinton Prize for English Song Pianist. She recently collaborated with soprano Maria Willsher on the album Echoes of Our Island, a stunning collection of 20th-century English art songs that features the first-ever public recording of Elizabeth Poston’s The Lake Isle of Innisfree.

This Friday, 30th May, Bianca takes the stage at the CBSO Centre, performing James Sharif’s deeply personal work, For Every Round You've Walked. Known for her expressive touch and ability to bring narratives to life through sound, Bianca’s performance promises to be a moving tribute to both the composer’s journey and the timeless connection between music and memory.
